Emoji Version 2.0 List


The popularity of emojis began to increase and already three months after the publication of Emoji 1.0 documentation, in ๐Ÿ‚ November 2015 Emoji Version 2.0 appeared. On ๐ŸŒˆ June 17, 2015, Unicode added an encoding for 41 emojis, which portrayed the family and โค๏ธ๏ธ Love, and five different skin tone modifiers for emoticons were also added.

It was with Emoji Version 2.0 that users could modify the skin color of emoticons. Emoji skin color is based on six tones of the Fitzpatrick scale, recognized as the standard for dermatology.

Interesting fact:

After the publication of Emoji Version 2.0, Oxford named the word of the year, or rather emoji ๐Ÿ˜‚. For the first time in ๐Ÿ“– History, the most popular word in the world was not a โ€œwordโ€, but a smiley expressing a personโ€™s feeling. Oxford noted that in 2015 there was a significant increase in the use of emoji, and recognized its impact on popular culture.
