Since ancient times, people traditionally venerated mothers, and for these purposes, a cult was even created in ancient Greece. In the countries of Asia in ๐ŸŒท March, ritual sacraments were arranged to honor the Great Mother of the Gods.

In the 17th-19th centuries, it was customary in Great Britain to ๐ŸŽŠ ะกelebrate โ€œMotherโ€™s Sundayโ€ on the second Sunday of Great Lent to praise mothers.

In 1872, in the United States, Julia Hord supported Motherโ€™s Day for the first time. She made a ๐Ÿ—ฃ Speech that this holiday is meant to unite mothers in the war for universal peace. But few people supported her idea.

Ann Reeves Jarvis began to be considered the founder of Motherโ€™s Day over time. She was involved in the creation of groups to ๐Ÿ™ Help ๐Ÿค’ Sick ๐Ÿ‘ฉ Mothers and their ๐Ÿ‘ถ Children. After Anne died in 1905, her daughter Anna came up with the initiative to create a holiday in honor of mothers. She initiated this idea to honor the memory of her mother and acted actively to achieve it: she sent โœ‰๏ธ Letters to various institutions, bodies, and authorities.

Three years later, in 1910, the state of Virginia officially approved this holiday for the first time. And already in 1914, Woodrow Wilson, the President of the ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ United States, proclaimed the second Sunday of May as a nationwide Motherโ€™s Day. Further, this idea was picked up by 23 more states, and the rest of the world celebrate Motherโ€™s Day on other dates.
