Nowruz Emojis Collection
Nowruz or Persian 🎄 New Year is a traditional 🎉 Holiday celebrated annually by the Iranian and Turkic peoples. The holiday commemorates the arrival of 🌸 Spring in the Northern Hemisphere and the beginning of the new year according to the ancient Iranian ☀️ Solar 📆 Calendar.
According to the Gregorian style, Nowruz is celebrated on the day of the astronomical vernal equinox, which in different years occurs between March 19 and 22. But in many countries the permanent date for the celebration is March 21.
- Besides the "Hyacinth" emoji, which represents the symbol of the New Year, Nowruz can be symbolized by the 🌱 "Sprout" emoji, which depicts the central product of the holiday, and the 🌷 "Tulip" emoji, which represents another flower-symbol of this spring day.
History of the holidayNowruz is first mentioned in the ancient 📚 Books dated back to the 2nd century B.C., but 🧑🔬 Scientists suggest that the holiday is even several centuries older. It is rooted in the traditions of the Iranian religions of Mithraism and Zoroastrianism, which preach a connection with the light of the ☀️ Sun and 🧍 Man with nature in general.
According to the belief, 👑 King Jamshid once ascended on his throne to the heavens, where 🌟 Shone like the sun, thus saving humanity from eternal ❄️️ Cold. And the day on which this happened was considered the first day of the year.
- Since 2009 Nowruz is included in Representative 📝 List of UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity , and since 2010 it is considered an International Day by a UN resolution.
Traditions and symbols of NowruzThe celebration is always preceded by a general cleaning of the 🏠 House, which begins a few weeks before the vernal equinox. It symbolizes getting rid of all the old accumulated over the past year. People also buy groceries and new 👗👔 outfits and stock up on holiday symbols hyacinth and 🌷 tulips.
