The term selfie first appeared in ๐ฆ๐บ Australia, and in 2002 it was first used on the Internet by a guy who posted a photo with a split ๐ Lip. He apologized for the quality of the photo, explaining that it was a selfie. In 2013, the word was added to the online version of the Oxford Dictionary, receiving the ๐ Title of Word of the Year.
