1. History of the ๐Ÿฎ Lantern Festival

The tradition of lighting red lanterns dates back to around 180 BC. The first belief tells about the ๐Ÿ‘‘ Emperor Wendi of the Western Han Dynasty, who ordered to hang red lanterns everywhere during his coronation. This became a tradition and already in 104 BC, the lantern festival became a public holiday.

According to the second legend, this holiday comes from the old Festival of Torches, the essence of which was the display of lighted torches by the peasants of the Han dynasty against ๐Ÿ— Animals and ๐Ÿฆ— Insects. Also, this ritual was needed to attract a ๐ŸŽ‘ Good harvest. Therefore, people in the villages of China still celebrate the lantern festival in the fields, surrounded by ๐Ÿ”ฅ Torches.
