Among us is an online game that supports multiplayer mode. It was developed by InnerSloth in 2018 for Android, iOS, and Windows. But the game gained its popularity only in 2020 when it was started to stream on Twitch and Youtube.

The concept of the game is that the players are randomly divided into two teams: 👨‍🚀 Crewmates and Imposters. The goal of the Crewmates is to identify all the Imposters, and the Imposters’ goal is to covertly sabotage and kill the Crewmates before they complete all of their tasks. Players suspected to be Impostors may be eliminated via a plurality vote, and even if the player was not an Imposter, he is eliminated and continues the game as a 👻 Ghost. The Crewmates win if they find all the Imposters or complete all tasks on the ship. The Imposters win if they kill all the Crewmates or if a critical sabotage goes unresolved.

Interesting fact:

Among us was inspired by Mafia, a social deduction game. Therefore, initially, there was only one 🗺 Map in Among us and it was played by 30 to 50 players at the same time since the game was conceived as an exclusive one. But it didn’t pay off either in marketing terms or in player feedback, so it was decided to add a multiplayer mode for multiple users.
The developers even announced a sequel to Among us 2 due to the huge popularity of the game, but soon canceled this decision and expressed a desire to improve the original game.
